Great hammerhead shark pin • Sharks 4 Kids donation
Introducing…The great hammerhead shark (Sphyrna mokarran)! These jawsome sharks have been observed using the sides of their heads to pin down their preferred meal, stingrays, while feeding. It’s fincredible how specialized their anatomy is for hunting!
Sadly they are vulnerable to overfishing, being taken as incidental bycatch, and targeted for their fins in the shark fin trade. Currently they are IUCN red-listed as Critically Endangered. To help these sharks, please advocate for their protection, don’t support the fin trade, and if you eat fish, please source sustainably. Even reducing your single-use plastic usage can help save sharks!
Each pin donates to Sharks 4 Kids!
